“Well done, o good and trustworthy servant..!” (Mt. 25: 21)
I have just learned that His Excellency and dear friend in Christ Mar Julios Abraham Kakanat, Archbishop Emeritus of Muvattupuzha of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church has been called by the heavenly God the Father to leave this world, after so many years of ministry as a Priest and a Bishop.
During my last august visit to him at the hospital in Thiruvalla, I admired his calm and radiant face bearing witness to his faith and his desire to imitate his sufferings our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, who had called him to follow Him and to serve the Church, as the good and faithful servant of the Gospel.
I join you, my dear brother Catholicos Mor Baselios Cleemis, the Most Rev. Fathers of the Synod of the Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, the Eparchy of Muvattupuzha and the family of the mourned Mar Julios Abraham, in praying full of hope the Risen Lord Jesus to welcome him into the joy and peace of His heavenly kingdom, with the Blessed Virgin Mary, our heavenly Mother, the angels, and all the saints.
